David Olle in Italy, +39 333 5959 217
I have received the odd message, saying that our report has not appeared, that only the ‘newsletter' banner is appearing, but when the replies reach me, the full email is readable, under the message. I have spoken to my web team, and the response was quite Italian really. It's not ME it's YOU. However I plan to try something new today, so stand by. (I saw it in a cartoon once, but I'm pretty sure I can do it).
For those in Australia, SBS2 does a daily report on the Giro d'Italia (Tour of Italy) called by Matt Keenan in the evenings, catch them if you can.
Giro d'Italia, May 8 - 30, 2010, Stage 13 Friday, May 21, 222 km Porto Recanati → Cesenatico profile | map | timetable |
Results 1 Manuel Belletti (Ita) Colnago-CSF Inox 2 Gregory Henderson (NZl) Sky Professional Cycling Team 3 Iban Mayoz Echeverria (Spa) Footon-Servetto

Skippy report: Porte sports Pink into the Dolomites domani.
Media report: First item on the national news, Filipo Pozzato's win in the Giro d'Italia. Until today, the Giro was buried down the back of the sports segment, underneath every minor football piece.
Cuisine report: Last night's dinner, in a small local trattoria in Casalserugo, I know I couldn't see the sea, but I've always been a gambler, between three of us we enjoyed Fettucine w/salmone & tomatoe, Spaghetti Vongole (spag w/clams, my favorite primo), grigliata misto di mare (mixed seafood grill) with excellent calamari, grilled zucchini and melanzane (eggplant), half a litre of prosecco and a quarter of red wine, water (with gas, of course) and house dessert (on the house) of chocolate salami, finishing with grappa. 45 euros for the three of us.
Tomorrow: Stage 14 Saturday, May 22, 201 km Ferrara → Asolo profile | map | timetable | The Bike Race: Three stages kick start the race in Holland, before they transfer to Savigliano in Italy's north west Piedmonte region. From here the race heads further south, through Tuscany, across to Abruzzo before returning to the Dolomites in the north-east and the event's Grand Finale in Verona. 198 riders (14 from Australia) complete 21 stages over 3 weeks, visiting 2 countries en route, with just 2 rest days. 3,416 kilomtres, running May 8 - 30.
